Catching Up

This past month has been an exciting one for our PowerWALK Ministry!

On September 14th, we had our much anticipated kick-off celebration.

Many of our WALKers spent months praying and preparing for this event.  Sisters reached out to others in all kinds of ways, from walking their neighborhoods to introducing themselves at garage sales, in order to find the opportunity to extend an invitation.  There was an immense amount of "behind the scenes" work done for this celebration and our heartfelt thanks go out to all of those special people.  Their hard work definitely paid off as I think I can speak for everyone in attendance and say that it was an inspiring evening.  It was so evident that God was at work in our our presence.  We had many visitors, some who came through our doors for the very first time, and it has been such a blessing to see those that have returned to worship with us again.

Please check out our Special Events page to see more photos from the night!

The 14th was also the start of our new study on Galatians.

If you have missed a week (or would just like to see a lesson again), make sure you visit our Galatians page.  This page is updated weekly with a video of our most recent lesson.  We are doing some serious WALKing through this book of the Bible and have already learned so much about Paul, Peter, the Law, and most importantly what it means to be saved by faith.  We are learning and rejoicing in the awesomeness of grace and spiritual freedom, which are gifts from God to those who believe.

We are also striving to impress into our minds and hearts our memory verse for this study:
I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me.
~ Galatians 2:20

If you have not already, please "Like" us on Facebook.  This is a great way for us to keep up with one another.  For example, just last week Allison posted on FB for a way for us to immediately help serve a local family in need.  You don't want to miss out on any of these updates!

Our time together is such an uplifting experience and each week I find myself counting down the days until Wednesday.  Yes, it is a time to study and worship with one another, but also a time to encourage and fellowship with one another.  By doing so we are more able to reflect Christ in our daily lives and truly live out Matthew 5:16.

It will be hard to exceed all that we learned and the love that we shared during our first year as a Women's Ministry, but if anyone is up for the challenge, I know that it is this group of ladies.  And to anyone reading this, we would be thrilled for YOU to be a part of it with us!

In Him,
AJ
