Be Our Guest!
What does PowerWALKing have in common with cupcakes?
They both give us a reason to celebrate!
Please join us as we celebrate the beginning of our second year PowerWALKing together through God's Word. We will be encouraging each other through singing and reflecting on His Word and His Works, and enjoying some really great cupcakes and laughs after the service. We would be honored if you would join our little family as we celebrate our wonderful Father, His unifying Spirit and our mighty Savior, Jesus Christ.
The Robinson Avenue church of Christ is located in Springdale across the street from Wal-Mart. Women's PowerWALK Wednesday meets in the Fellowship Building at 7 p.m. on Wednesday nights. Our church also has an exciting Men's Ministry called FUEL, which is having a kick-off celebration that night as well. We have a large Children's Ministry dedicated to providing a loving environment for children to learn about God. There are Bible classes available for every age, so please feel free to bring the entire family! Dress is casual for the evening.
Please call our church office with any questions or for more details: 479-751-4887
We look forward to seeing you there!
Grace and peace!
The Women of WPW
Come Meet Our Family!
I love the movie "My Big Fat Greek Wedding". My favorite scene is when Tula's boyfriend Ian visits her family for the first time. He goes to their house, expecting a small family get-together, and instead, there are a hundred family members there to greet them on the front lawn. I laugh at this scene every time because I grew up in a family like that. Poor Ian walks up to this gregarious group of Greek family members, most of whom are named Nick, and is bombarded by their graciousness. Even though their culture was so different from his (they were actually roasting a pig in the front yard!) he felt welcomed and accepted, and he fell in love with Tula's family.
Many people may feel the same way about attending a church service. Sometimes we feel uncomfortable because we do not know what to expect. What if we are called on to read a Bible verse, answer a question, or worse yet, to pray out loud in front of all these people? Also, how do we know what to wear to the service? What songs will they be singing? What if no one talks to us? Or what if everyone talks to us and it is overwhelming to us?
Then there are also some doubts and concerns in our minds that I believe are direct lies from Satan. Thoughts such as "I am not good enough to belong in God's family" or "I can never be forgiven", and my favorite "I won't be accepted for who I am". Oh, how we have allowed Satan to lead us away from the Father that loves us so much!
Not any more! These thoughts are not allowed to reign in our minds and hearts, and keep us from becoming who we were created to be! We refuse to be tricked and deceived by Satan. We commit to knowing the truth.
In the WPW ministry, we are learning to praise our Father who has this GREAT love for each one of us! He has a purpose for each one of His precious daughters, and a desire for us to know Him as the loving Father that He is, not some far distant deity that is waiting for us to mess up so that He can make us feel terrible about ourselves. We are all equal in Him; not one daughter has a greater purpose in this life than another daughter, and we are all equally loved by Him. He is a wonderful Father!
Oh how I wish I could adequately express in this post the love that Jesus Christ has for us as well! We may know that He died for our sins, but what does that really mean to us? What do we owe Him? What does He want from us? Who was He, anyway? I wish that we could actually see Him for who He is and what He is doing for us, now, at this very moment. I wish we could see Him with His arms reaching out to us, with joy in His face, and love in His heart. I wish we would run to Him, with our joy, our fears, our troubles, our families- basically, with all our hearts and minds, and throw ourselves into the open arms of a Savior who loves us so much!
We are a family in Jesus Christ! We are connected to each other and we WALK together through this life's peaks and valleys. We are happy for each other, and we cry together. None of us are perfect, but, thanks be to God, He loves us so much that He has chosen to make us complete in Him. In Him, we have peace.
We want to invite you to come meet our family! We promise not to be roasting a pig on the front lawn, and not to overwhelm you. We are not here to judge you, to tell you what you should do to be like us, or to condemn you. We just want you to know the true love that is found in God's family. Dear sister, we hope to meet you soon!
Grace and peace,
Michele

Your Grace Is Enough
“Answer my prayers, O LORD, for your unfailing love is wonderful. Take care of me, for your mercy is so plentiful.”
Psalms 69:16
***
“Each time he said, “My grace is all you need. My power works best in weakness.” So now I am glad to boast about my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ can work through me.”
2 Corinthians 12:9
I hope you can take a few minutes today to listen and be uplifted by the words of this song. May you rejoice today with the assurance that God cares for you, God loves you, and God's grace is enough for YOU!
Blessings,
AJ

WALK Around Your Block
Hey WALKers!
This Saturday, August 27th, at 11:00 a.m. we are encouraging all of us to get out and WALK.
What does that mean? It means that all of us will be using that time to give out invites to our kick-off celebration on September 14th. We wanted to set a time where we would be purposeful and dedicated to talking with our friends and family about joining us on that night. We will be doing this individually in our neighborhoods and with our loved ones, but we will be united by WALKing at the same time. It's a neat idea, and I have my WALKing shoes ready to go!
We will have special invitations ready to be picked up this Wednesday night. Please grab as many as you need. We'll have plenty, so go for it! Invite the whole world!! :) Then make plans to WALK this Saturday morning in your neighborhood and DRIVE to other neighborhoods if you need to. :) Also, please feel free to invite people through FB and email- that counts as WALKing! Light up FB this Saturday morning with invitations to join us on September 14th! We cannot get the word out enough.
Of course, if you already have plans this Saturday morning, please make plans at another time to WALK Around Your Block and invite your friends and family to our kick-off celebration.
Grace and peace, and more info later!

Get Ready For September 14th!
Hey WALKers! Can you believe we have less than one month before our kick-off celebration of our new year in WPW? God has amazingly blessed us during the first year of our ministry, and I know that we all are eagerly awaiting to see what He has planned for us next!
We wanted to let you know that our official kick-off date for the second year of WPW is September 14th. We are encouraging all WALKers to be prayerfully active and ready to participate in this event. There is a lot of preparation already happening behind the scenes; praying and planning for an event that can host OVER 200 women! Yes, you read that correctly, WALKers, we are challenging each other to have over 200 women in attendance that night! We know we can feasibly attain that number as we have over 100 WALKers who come in and out of our class time. BUT, we want to challenge all of us to not only be there on September 14th, but to bring friends and family with us! We challenge each one of us to start praying right now that God lead us to those who are seeking Him, and that we listen to the Spirit's prompting and invite them to join us that night!
If you would like to help out in preparing for that night, please tell one of the WPW ministry team leaders. We can definitely put you to work! One thing we can all do is pray for God's vision, strength and harmony to be present that night and present with us as we prepare.
And we all can invite our friends and family!
Grace and peace to you all!
